The problem with humans is that they think as humans - anthropocentrically, thus unable to see the
intricate connections between all life on planet Earth.

Avatar carries a strong social message to its audience, it perfectly depicts the avaricious nature of most humans, their exploitation of resources, to the point where they need to obtain the unobtainable, whilst indiscriminently and wantonly destroying another planet's rich and varied ecosystems. Just as they did on their own homeworld.

This is one reason why humans must never be allowed to leave the Sol system. Not that its likely in anycase, for most, if not all eukaryotic organisms are more than likely experiencing their final century, if not decades of evolution on this beleaguered Earth.
