You should play no man sky or star bound since you like space

Does each of these stars we’re flying by have their own planets like our own star?

This is something I've thought of very few times butt is a great question. Like it would be scary if you were just chilling in your home and then you here a BOOM outside because a spaceship hit the planet near the speed of light

5 light years per second? Damn it will take 5.56 hours to go from one end of the galaxy to the other

Umm... That's not how Trek's Warp drive works. The warp engine 'warps' space around the ship, forcing it into 'subspace', so the ship doesn't travel through normal spacetime.

Here's the problem with warp speed. The reason it's so dangerous and why it must be mapped out before hand, is gravy wells. At warp you are passing quickly between several wells, pushing and pulling the craft as it travels. Because of this, the chances of hitting a star is extremely high.

You wouldnt hit anything in warp speed, even if a planet is in front of you, you would not hit it. Warp speed is expanding and compressing space-time in front and behind you.

Pretty good I hit em all the time in elite dangerous and that is a one to one representation, usually hit planets actually. Not hot bit have to go around.

Warp speed folds space around the ship & the computer redirects ahead of time enough to avoid collision with detected items the void of space means nothing.

I think the fact that even a microscopic meteorite would cause a nuclear explosion if it collided with something that fast is the reason we will never have spaceships that go that fast.

I expected some complex mathematical formula designed to calculate the likelihood of collision with a celestial body based off of some set values like the assumption that the warp is actively aiming at a solar system so that (relatively speaking) massive amounts of empty space could be cut,

but a simulation certainly works as well.

Kool we have warp speed in this theory but we can't shift the vibration of our molecular structure out of this dimension into a transdimensional state like we mastered in the 50s so that we don't actually touch anything in this dimension? No? You always talk smart but I don't think you research anything unless you think its "safe", can tell by your voice

Bro with all that space and all those stars eventually you are going to hit a star if you go in a straight line and besides that wasn’t real space
